Dear Registrant:
We are indeed grateful for your encouragement and support.
We meet this year in turbulent times. Our nation is on the verge of electing a new President, while being bogged down in a war on two fronts, and in the midst of an economic recession. That would seem to spell serious trouble for the party in power. However, we are optimistic that our party will regain the White House.
We have not heard the presidential candidates express any responsible solutions to the vexing problems facing Black America. It falls to us to step forward with issue and policy solutions that escape our current candidates. Solutions, that actually solve problems rather than creating another generation of economic underachievers and school drop outs. We must take the initiative to ensure that these solutions are heard and enacted. Please understand that UBRC is an independent force associated with the Republican Party, but not dependent upon it.
It is the duty of every citizen to stand up for what he believes is right in his lifetime. Our faith informs us to love our neighbor and protect the least and most vulnerable among us. The founders of the Republican Party saw their neighbors in slavery and determined that the nation must change. Today, we too, are called to stand up for our neighbors who are caught in the economic shackles of an ever deteriorating school system, injustice, illegal drugs, gang violence, deteriorating families and suspiciously disproportionate abortion rates. We have fought for Civil Rights…but rights without righteousness have given us foolishness and the destruction of Martin Luther King’s dream.
We who are called to this effort will not be judged by how many stand with us but by the fact that we stood. Again, do not be dismayed, but have faith that what we stand for is right, and we will ultimately succeed. We “must” fight for: o Economic Empowerment
o Safe Neighborhoods
o Equal educational opportunities …now
o Re-introduction and re-education of fathers to produce Intact Families
o Life affirming Health Care, including an end to the black abortion genocide
On behalf of the United Black Republican Conference, welcome to our 2008 Wichita Conference.
